What’s been happening:

Life has been interesting since graduation. I commuted from Lewistown my last semester at Penn State and still live there today. When I graduated I was still working as a manager for a fast food chain. Within a year of graduation, I had my second child and after his birth got a job as an administrative secretary to the CEO and Vice Presidents at a local hospital. My Penn State degree actually helped me get the position as the person who hired me used to work at University Park. During my seven years at this hospital I got divorced and re-married. Three years after I married again, I left the hospital to work with my husband at a small business. We planned to purchase this small business, but in the end determined it wasn't worth buying. When we wouldn't buy the business, the owner told us to leave immediately. There we were, with four children, unemployed and receiving no income of any kind. It was a little scary. We then spent the next five weeks fixing up the location of our current business, Creekside Hearth & Patio, LLC, which has been running successfully now since 2005. I'd like to thank the Penn State Small Business Development Center which gave us some great direction when we first started. It may have taken 10 years, but I did finally make excellent use of my degree and I would recommend Penn State to anyone! We Are...
